**Job Title: Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant – Fan Engagement and Game Presentation, Social Media, or Video

Location: Southern Utah University

Position Type: Graduate Assistant (Beginning Fall 2025)

Job Summary: The Athletics Marketing Graduate Assistant will support the athletics department with fan engagement, social media, or video content creation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in one of these areas and will assist in enhancing the fan experience, promoting athletic events, and supporting digital marketing efforts.

Key Responsibilities (Fan Engagement Graduate Assistant Role): Serve as the primary marketing and fan experience contact for assigned sports, and secondary for others. Assist the Assistant AD of Marketing in creating and executing marketing campaigns and fan engagement strategies. Develop marketing and fan experience plans for assigned sports. Oversee interns and manage related responsibilities. Work with coaches to implement marketing strategies for each team. Coordinate game-day activities, including PA announcers, music, video board, cheer squad, and pep band. Organize special events like Kids Days, student initiatives, and student appreciation activities. Create engaging atmospheres at home events with games, giveaways, contests, and music. Promote events and communicate promotions across campus and the community. Support community outreach and coordinate summer events. Assist in managing the student internship program. Other duties as assigned.*

Key Responsibilities (Social Media Graduate Assistant Role): Develop and execute social media strategies to boost visibility and engagement across platforms. Create and curate content promoting teams, events, and athletes. Monitor trends and apply tactics to grow followers and reach. Collaborate with coaches and staff for content and promotions. Manage daily posts, ensuring consistent brand voice. Track performance metrics and adjust strategies for growth. Engage with fans through comments and messages. Promote live events, ticket sales, and special promotions. Stay updated on social media trends and platform updates. Align social media efforts with overall marketing goals. * Other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities (Video Graduate Assistant Role): Capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content for athletic events, promotions, and social media. Create highlight reels, game recaps, and feature videos to showcase teams, athletes, and events. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to develop video strategies aligned with department goals. Assist in live-streaming and video production for home games and events. Manage and organize video footage for easy access and use in future projects. Ensure videos are optimized for different platforms (social media, website, etc.). Stay updated on the latest video production techniques and technology. Support the team in brainstorming creative video ideas to engage fans and promote events. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (completed before Fall 2025).
  • Experience in one of the following: fan engagement, social media management, or video production.
  • Strong communication skills and creativity.
  • Familiarity with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) is a plus.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
